Tier3 Technologies is a mid-West based company founded in February, 2005 by Michael Paynter, and is privately-owned. Paynter, an information technology veteran, envisioned a company that took the best of class delivery systems and built them to suit each enterprises specific needs. "We wanted to learn the business objectives of our customers, and deliver IT performance exceeding anything they’d done before." said Paynter. "Our Eveready Services Platform delivers across multiple industries and delivers unparalleled performance time after time." The company specializes in Business Continuity Planning, Virtualization, Disaster Recovery and Wide Area Networking Application acceleration.

Michael Paynter
Owner and Managing Partner

Michael Paynter is the founder and Managing Partner of Tier3 Technologies. His background includes key positions at BellSouth, AT&T, Paradyne and Lucent Technologies. He achieved a number of recognition goals and was named to the BellSouth President’s Club. As an entrepreneur, Michael has been involved in a multi-national startup, Spacecards, in the role of President and CEO; and as Sales Vice President of Vobix, a startup in the Application Services Provider, or ASP Industry.

Michael served in several positions within Kentucky State Government as the result of an appointment by Governor Brereton Jones. This included chairing the Strategic Planning Subcommittee of the Kentucky Information Resource Management Commission (KIRM), when in the role of Commissioner of Administrative Services and Chief Information Officer for the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet. Key achievements included the first statewide network for a State Police organization powered by AT&T UNIX Computers, as well as the first "Software Defined Network" sale to a state government using standard pricing.

Chuck Neville
Sr. Consulting Engineer Technical Services

Chuck Neville leads the engineering and technical services team for Tier3 Technologies. Chuck spent 11 years in the United State Army and Kentucky Army National Guard and 11 years with AT&T/Lucent Technologies finishing as Network Engineer in the Advanced Data Network Group. He served as the Data Systems Manager at The Council of State Governments prior to his positions with AT&T. His certifications include Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft, Vmware, Citrix, Riverbed and Polycom. Chuck graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kentucky State University with a Computer Science Degree.

Tier3 Technologies Team

The Tier3 Technologies team consists of a group of Senior Consulting Engineers that collectively have over 100 years of experience in the IT field. All are certified in the essential toolkit utilized by Tier3 Technologies to delivery our "Eveready Services Platform®". These certifications include VMware Certified Professional, VMware Certified Consulting Partner, VMware Certified Instructor, DoubleTake Certified Engineer, Certified Platespin Services Associate and Riverbed Technology Certified Senior Consulting Engineer. In addition, all of our Senior Consulting Engineers carry certifications in various other technologies including CISCO and Microsoft.
